CRT Update

There's good news for people with very small claims in British Columbia: the online Civil Resolution Tribunal ("CRT") will be accepting smalls claims disputes up to $5,000. For more information you can read the Canadian Bar Association's article or read the latest update from the CRT

The CRT has been accepting strata law claims since October 2016 and has already released a number of published decisions. Soon people with small claims disputes that have no connection to strata law will also be able to have their claim resolved in the streamlined online claim process.

Taeya Fitzpatrick has specialized in strata law for most of her practice, has won cases for her clients in the BC Supreme Court, the BC Court of Appeal, and assisted with a client succeeding in defending a Civil Resolution Tribunal claim. Taeya offers full services to a strata corporation or a strata owner from redrafting the strata’s bylaws, collection of outstanding strata fees or other charges, issues with bylaw enforcement, to amending the strata plan. For more information on the services provided, you can reach Taeya by email, phone: 250-762-6111, or at her Web Page
